Actually i kinda disagree , what about stp debut album? 12 songs and the running time is ~52 min(whatever). And this one is also "ridiculously quick"
[off]My favorite band of all time is Killing Joke, and i'm basically happy with an avarage 5-6 min of the songs[/off] i wish the pj's would follow the same pattern

52 minutes isn't quick.

I would've been really excited about Let the Records Show but... play and show make a huge difference

It's doing double-duty though, I think. It's not literal. There's a lot of puns involved in this record: "Mind your manners" is ironic. The artwork for Yellow Moon has an allusion to the phrase "Shoot for the moon". Ironic. 'Got Some' was a mixture between a rock song about rock music, and a politics / protest song. It didn't quite work as both things at once. What if this song was a more successful attempt? I can only guess, but I would say that the allusion to both looks deliberate. I might be completely wrong but I'm choosing to think this song will fit the concept, because also, the artwork ties in. I'm not sure if you saw my post about that?
Also, there's got to be some reason why the sound on the Vine is just a scratch / stop.

If "Let the Records Play" is the first song, it could really set a cool context for the subjects and themes of the album.

I really liked that about the LTRP vine clip. Much more interesting than if they just released that one as an image.

I'm really hoping "Let the Records Play" is a play on words. It's the only thing I got, because otherwise the song will be lame.

It's gonna be a serious song, not a song about songs. I just know it. It might not be any good, but it won't be
about music.

If the artwork is so deliberately tied together, I have trouble believing that the songs won't at least talk to one another. LTRP will be involved in that somehow.

I'm looking forward to finding out whether we get anything else as aggressive as MYM. That should indicate where we're heading.

Skipping, full band. Now, how will the artist tie that in?

since when did music become a shallow topic? Volumes have been written about music, thousands of publications, it is one of the core elements of human culture after all.

This is getting close. I'm thinking we get at least one of the rumored tracks today. Sleeping By Myself or Infallible.

or the next singles b side, but get it out there
It would be nice a little Ep with Cold Confession, Let it Ride and Of the Earth.

Pretty genius by Pearl Jam Inc.
Make these songs bigger than they're actually by giving the songs their own artwork, and revealing them in a manner that also makes them bigger than they actually are. The songs might still suck but at least they're a part of the piece of art they can hide behind. I don't think this bodes well for the actual music being good.

Think what? That Ed sucks at writing music about music? Yes I do. 'Supersonic' is exhibit A.
