After the Common People shocker, this really needs to become a thing. "There's this song. The opening riff kind of sounds like Boston. The singer is hard to understand, but there's something about here we are now, entertain us. Never heard it before. Pretty good."

If you pick a Manics song you'll meet criteria #1 and get my vote automatically in any round that doesn't require moving down to requirement #2, Joey.

I tried to get that going with my Wonderwall joke, but it fell flat. I'm all for starting it up again though.

I was in the bank the other day and heard this really catchy song about some guy wondering where his baby could be. I think she died or something, but it was really poppy. Good tune, hope I hear it again.

Believe me, I considered this. But given that I hadn't even heard of this band until a few days ago, I figured it would be disingenuous. Are you telling me that integrity won't do me any favors in an RM tournament? Because I'm not sure that's a world I want to live in.

I was at this party. Everyone sang this song. Something about birthdays. It was really catchy. Not the Beatles song about birthdays, but close. Happy birthday ... to ... you? Maybe. Something like that. Good tune. Never heard it before.

There was this song I heard the other day at the mall. There were vocals, but it wasn't really singing. It was more like...talking melodically. And the melodic talker guy, he was talking about cruising down some street, girls in bikinis or something. Sounded a little like that Queen song. Something about it being cold, or iced or something. Is this new?

My daughter was singing some song the other day. It was pretty lazy, buy catchy. She just listed all of the letters of the alphabet in a row. Is this what passes for pop music these days? I mean, the melody was good, but the lyrics just seemed mailed in.

Guys have you heard that song about putting your right foot in, and then taking it out. It's sooooooo good. I heard it at my niece's friend's party a few weeks ago. I've been looking for it on torrents, but I've had zero luck. Super good. Something about shaking all about? I don't know. But if any of you have a link, I'd heart a PM.

True, but I bet if Weird Al ever heard it he could make something special out of it.

And it's better than the Beatles birthday song, because the Beatles are massively overrated.

Sorry, I just now saw this post. If you start listening to them today you can probably have all twelve studio albums memorized by the time your next pick comes around.

I'm going to pick nine rap songs and one Manics song just to see if Lament will vote for my team.

I did YouTube a couple of their songs. So I'm on my way.

I'm still screwed - if a band's been picked I'm trying to stay away, which really cuts me up some - no R.E.M., U2 or Manics
