Guys, this is starting to hurt my feelings.
After the Common People shocker, this really needs to become a thing. "There's this song. The opening riff kind of sounds like Boston. The singer is hard to understand, but there's something about here we are now, entertain us. Never heard it before. Pretty good."Lament wrote:4. Who has more songs that stip has never heard?
If you pick a Manics song you'll meet criteria #1 and get my vote automatically in any round that doesn't require moving down to requirement #2, Joey.durdencommatyler wrote:Guys, this is starting to hurt my feelings.
I tried to get that going with my Wonderwall joke, but it fell flat. I'm all for starting it up again though.PryTo wrote:After the Common People shocker, this really needs to become a thing. Yeah, that got lost in the outcry. Let's DO this!Lament wrote:If you pick a Manics song you'll meet criteria #1 and get my vote automatically in any round that doesn't require moving down to requirement #2, Joey.durdencommatyler wrote:Guys, this is starting to hurt my feelings.

Believe me, I considered this. But given that I hadn't even heard of this band until a few days ago, I figured it would be disingenuous. Are you telling me that integrity won't do me any favors in an RM tournament? Because I'm not sure that's a world I want to live in.Lament wrote:If you pick a Manics song you'll meet criteria #1 and get my vote automatically in any round that doesn't require moving down to requirement #2, Joey.durdencommatyler wrote:Guys, this is starting to hurt my feelings.
Eh. I thought it lacked agency.PryTo wrote:I was at this party. Everyone sang this song. Something about birthdays. It was really catchy. Not the Beatles song about birthdays, but close. Happy birthday ... to ... you? Maybe. Something like that. Good tune. Never heard it before.
True, but I bet if Weird Al ever heard it he could make something special out of it.dsb1218 wrote:Eh. I thought it lacked agency.PryTo wrote:I was at this party. Everyone sang this song. And it's better than the Beatles birthday song, because the Beatles are massively overrated.Lament wrote:True, but I bet if Weird Al ever heard it he could make something special out of it.dsb1218 wrote:Eh. They're certainly no Yakety Sax.PryTo wrote:And it's better than the Beatles birthday song, because the Beatles are massively overrated.Lament wrote:True, but I bet if Weird Al ever heard it he could make something special out of it.dsb1218 wrote:Eh. Sorry, I just now saw this post. If you start listening to them today you can probably have all twelve studio albums memorized by the time your next pick comes around.durdencommatyler wrote:Believe me, I considered this. I did YouTube a couple of their songs. So I'm on my way.Lament wrote:Sorry, I just now saw this post. I'm still screwed - if a band's been picked I'm trying to stay away, which really cuts me up some - no R.E.M., U2 or ManicsLament wrote:Sorry, I just now saw this post.
