Yeah, those units are getting super impressive. All that for $270 is crazy.

I have been thinking about getting one of those fancy Line 6 HX Stomp units and selling the rest of my board but I can't be bothered at the moment. I should probably do it before everyone owns one of these multi units and has no need for individual pedals tho.

I'm still clinging to the real amp ship, but I ditched all my effects for a Line 6 HX Effects unit 5 or 6 years ago and haven't looked back. There's nothing I use that's so boutique that I can't find what I need in that unit. The HX stomp units look great. I think the only drawback is limited DSP so you can't use multi amp or cab patches. A few of the newer amp models are really DSP heavy too so you might struggle with adding much to your signal chain if using those. Worth looking into before taking the plunge.

Beautiful guitars, but that bridge freaks me out. Does it stay in tune okay? Intonation good?

It works fine for me with 11-gauge flatwounds but it's definitely a quirky design.

You're probably not going to be able rely on it for playing metal, etc.

I did change the traditional 'R' tailpiece for a less blingy (but more solid and easier to string) trapeze.

I love that color, spenno! And the knobs.

Guys, what's your favorite octave pedal? Need to move on from my boss

Depends if you want analog or digital?

If the former, I'd probably go for the Foxrox Octron:

popped into a guitar center to kill some time, and spent some one-on-one with an SG standard. been playing since I was a teenager and it was the first SG I ever touched. holy shit it was light and had the absolute lowest playable action this side of shred guitar. didn't plug it in because I was afraid it would imprint on me. I can't do another $2k guitar. can I?

by contrast, the jazzmaster I tried played like I was fretting rebar over train tracks. I like a little fight, but it was a bit much.

It does vary a bit depending on model, but Fender have been committed to putting 'narrow tall' frets on tons of guitars in the last 5-7 years and I can't stand them.

As you said, they feel like playing over train tracks.

I have this. I absolutely love it. Love the neck and those pickups are fierce and beautiful

I liked everything about it, Strat. but I'd have to part with something I already have to avoid the guilt and it's too similar to the Les Paul to justify having them both (will never part with the Les Paul; bury me with it)

I got a '61 SG a few years ago and really like it. Last week I modded the neck pickup (flipped the magnet to put it out of phase) and now I can hardly put it down.

I parted with a Gretsch Country Club to get my SG. I know that struggle. But I personally never looked back.
