Earlier on the market report

Stock markets around the world have drafted all staff in to deal.
The pound is going on a rollercoaster and given the whole campaign has been so fucked up and manipulated it could go anywhere.

Could be financial market chaos in just a few hours. No matter what happens.

Tomorrows cover of the most widely read British tabloid

This is where the problem lies.

I'll wildly guess that that's the tabloid Rupert Murdoch owns, then?

Fuck this. I decided last month that as I was no longer a resident of the UK I would abstain from voting. I think I regret that decision already.

Correct.
All british papers and media are owned by just four men. Billionaires each of them.

They might as well have said sunlit uplands...
So basically, Johnson and May spent Trump's presidency fighting each other over how best to sell the NHS to Trump.

People are so weird to me. I mentioned this vote to some people at work, and none of them had a hint of an idea what I was talking about. A moment that will have tremendous impact on the way the future unfolds. Macro level history in the making, regardless of the outcome.

Then they switched topics to “OMG DO YOU THINK RYLO KEN WILL TURN INTO A GOOD GUY”
(patriotic choking noises)

This is a leading Protestant unionist in Northern Ireland today. On the election.
The battle referenced was 1690. Orangemen colonists arrival in Ireland. (Well more than that. Protestants one big win over native Catholic Irish)
This is what we’re dealing with up there. Living in the centuries old past all but literally
They know what’s coming. Britain has abandoned them and their biggest fear is looming.
And terrified they’ll be treated as abysmally and inhumanely as they treated native Irish all the way back then up to now.

Exit poll say Tories have a clear majority.

Not buying it until it’s all counted. They’ve been wrong badly very often. So tomorrow.

Sounds like a thumping Conservative win. Boris is far from my ideal party leader but I can't knock his astonishing success.

Hopefully Labour will finally close the book on the Corbyn era and rebuild towards something more electable.
