I can't get over what I'm hearing... so much to take in. Def feels freer - like they set out to explore as opposed to being locked into a mold or template. Nothing but love for this so far... on 2nd listen.

Really didn’t think they had this in them.
I needed this from them.
Lots of parts and pieces of songs to dig into.
Even the songs that aren’t initially my favorite still are sonically different and far and away better than anything on LB.

one big takeaway from this album is that it's packed with IDEAS and wide open spaces that allow room for those ideas. somewhat exotic arrangements, varied instrumentation, pockets of background noise... all towards a larger soundscape.
Lightning Bolt sounded like an average band out of ideas.

I go to work, I get off expecting another clip, not a whole damn album! Should have known when I saw that the board had blown up. Everyone seems to like it or love it which is a good sign.
