A lot of Floyd fans unwilling to admit how cheesy they are
Please please lecture me on how Mother sounds nothing like this song... I definitely can hear them recording this around the time Ed played with Waters for Sandy, not coincidental that they've been covering or in that case, collaborating with Floyd. This one will be a rock radio smash btw.
I agree, I'm saying that just because this song is cheesy, doesn't mean there's no Floyd in it.
No I got that, totally agree- just anticipating the naysayers to fill this up with comments about how PJ take their inspiration from Nickelback.
It's a million miles away from Nickelback except for *slightly* in the chorus.
Pearl Jam made Nickleback not the other way around.

How'd you manage to get hold of it if you're in the UK - I've also been hitting a brick wall...

Exactly. Give it a chance. Stop denying what it is, accept that what you're listening to is real and yes, it is Pearl Jam. And then let the magic happen.

By the way, can someone hook me up with a downloadable version of this? I've only managed to listen on that radio site.

Mixed feelings.
Musically it's very good.
Problem is it's Elton John kind of good.
WTF.

This song could've featured in Con Air, given its story.

The song lacks any filter whatsoever between the band's emotional expression of their creativity and the listener.

Don't worry, lads...This is still grandma Pearl's Jam.

I could listen to this on a rainy day with a cup of tea and a biscuit.
I can imagine a wet festival crowd in that same rain singing along to this out loud, without being ashamed at all 8-)

Mirella :)

Filters make everything 'coooool'.

Ironically, filters are not cool when smoking roll-ups.

Guys, I'm listening to this in Pakistan. I am using my company's VPN to connect via a US IP address. Being a multi-national's employee has it's benefits sometimes.

This is more Bon Jovi than Pink Floyd, be honest.
