Seriously.
A major streaming Radio site, supported by every label, has had this up for an hour plus. Alternativenation.net has this up. Are they going to cut them off? This isn't an illegal leak, it's an intentional leak on someone's part. Proof? That is indeed appalling.

This could be pretty big for the band on the radio.

All of this is why I don't buy they're revoking memberships.

Can you picture that?
If you take away the production, cheesy solo and prominent piano, I don't really see it as any different than a song like Betterman. That said..I certainly can't see young Ed singing it. But I have zero problem hearing almost 50 Ed doing this.
Its only the solo I can't get on board with here.
i think the solo has a purpose.
It sells.
Or so they gambled

Yep. If PJ wanted to make joyful pop after Riot Act (OK, I'll allow S/T through) they should've gone here. It's almost as if Backspacer never happened, not because I don't like parts of Backspacer, but because everything it tried to do is done much better here. If a pop ballad is what they wanted, they've knocked it out of the park here.

Really? I think it's fair game. They aren't just banning people for listening on Rdio or sharing the link are they? That would be pretty bogus, but if people are swapping a stolen song, the so be it.

Yes, whether you like it or not, you have to admire the execution and commitment on display. The supposed ideals of Backspacer fully realized.

I like the solo.
Is there anyone who hasn't liked the Lightning Bolt stuff we've had so far, but who does like this? I'm curious.

I wonder how the reactions to these songs would have been had this been the follow up to S/T.
I agree it has taken everything I liked about Backspacer and crushed it. Honestly the pop element of Pearl Jam has had just as much to do with me loving them as the more "odd" stuff.

I think part of the problem was that eve though they were making a pop album with Backspacer, they still didn't fully commit to it. I remember Ed saying that he listened to The Fixer over and over and asked peoples opinions to find out if it was too poppy. He was still hesitant about releasing a pop song. Here, they embraced the idea and went all in. And it shows.

It's not a stolen song if someone like rdio, spotify, iTunes, Pandora, etc. has had it up for multiple hours. And would Radiohead or Reznor ever act that paranoid? I understand trying to cut off leaks and torrenting but this is unreasonable.

I suppose there is probably a policy being broken by ripping the song. Nevertheless, 10c enjoys fucking over the people that keep them afloat.

Me too. There's one reason songs like REEEAAAAARRVIEEEEWMIIIIIIIRRRRROOOOOORRRR have stayed with me, and it's their catchiness.
I've just put this on my Backspacer playlist, and none of the other songs are getting any play anymore...
