Is Kanye the world's most famous misogynist? I can't think of anyone bigger but maybe you guys admire more misogynists than I do and have more information about their exploits.

I'll be honest, TLOP has had zero staying power for me.

I find it increasingly hard to care about where the line between art and misogyny is in Kanye's music -- more and more of his lyrics just come off as icky to me, and at some point I can't lie to myself about how they make me feel, no matter how many eyerolls it may solicit from those who "get it." I do really like a handful of tracks on "Pablo," but -- provocations aside -- most of the album just doesn't excite me, and it's usually because Kanye's rapping or singing or writing just feels so half-assed. I still think the guy is one of the most singularly gifted musicians the world has ever seen, but I just don't relate to what he's doing now.

yeah i mean some lines are just profane and are an unnecessary disservice to rest of the composition.

for example:

"i'm 'onna raw dog big bertha's grand-pappy after he drink a gallon of metamucil"

just doesn't belong in the same verse as:

"If you want to test a man's character, give him power".

Similarly, the beauty of:

"The time is always right to do what is right."

is essentially lost when it is followed moments later by:

"i'm like an all you can buttf-ck buffet, so show up hungry, n-gga"

but the man's a genius so maybe I am missing the sub-text

Hey man, I've long been one of the guy's most outspoken defenders. I've been listening to his music with a great deal of focus and intent for over a decade and am not just talking out my ass when I criticize him. It's fine if you don't want to respond, but drop the air of superiority.

Aren't you a big fan of world-famous homophobe Josh Homme?

If only Kanye made music as boring as his

Sorry for the crossing of wires; I was really just referencing zeb and verb. I disagree with your feelings here, but I get them. They are thoughtful opinions. Unlike zeb's.

Homme may well hate fags but to say his music is boring is pretty unfair.
