Defensive football rules.

That game was not a defensive exhibition. It was two terrible offenses. But I get how the NFL needs to spin it. The real heads know. Literally the Seattle kicker was the actual MVP. The kicker!

That halftime show was the only thing that was good or interesting or fun about that entire event.

There is something to be said for the fact that not every championship is necessarily “that big of a deal” … I mean, someone has to win it every year. I think of this in terms of the Olympics … someone will win the gold medal in XYZ event, but will they beat Usain Bolt’s record? Will a swimmer win more medals than Michael Phelps? No? Meh.

So back to football, yeah, someone is going to win the Super Bowl. Sometimes that is a big yawn. But do you guys remember back when the Seattle Seahawks went 14-3 and their losses were by a combined 9 points? And then went on to beat three 12+ win teams in the postseason with a combined +55 point differential en route to a Super Bowl championship in their biggest rival’s home stadium? Now that was a team. They don’t make ‘em like they used to I guess.

Same thing, the NFL is just the group of owners after all. They probably divvy up the profits between themselves… all the more reason to not cut in an entity that owns a non NFL stadium.
