i tried both sculpin and dragon's milk for the first time during my christmas break. i wasn't blown away by sculpin, but dragon's milk is outstanding.

Hey Doug, I see Ballast Point is canning Grapefruit Sculpin next year. Keep your eyes pealed.

I really loved it. I had the Avery Tweak the night before and I thought it wa a tad bit aggressive at 18% abv. The Dragons milk seemed a bit more mellow and I liked the Vanilla taste. It went down smooth.

Have you had anything from Central Waters in Wisconsin? From reading your posts, it sounds like it's right up your alley. Central Waters is one of my unsung-hero breweries.

Found some fresh Ballast Point Sculpin and Big Eye over the holidays. Not so easy to find around here (Connecticut). Got a six pack of each - $14.99 each, ouch. Awesome beers, though. I'd heard that Sculpin was the "perfect" ipa and much better than Big Eye (I've had Big Eye many times, but this was my first taste of Sculpin). I can definitely see why some people feel this way, but I think I actually prefer Big Eye.

My co-worker feels the exact same way. Sculpin is fantastic but much more hop-forward than Big Eye. We've, Connecticut, have been luckier as of late with Sculpin shipments, my local place actually gets cans regularly.
