Well it's obviously all hypothetical, but Henderson was a trade deadline acquisition. If Raines played on the '93 Blue Jays, they never would have added Henderson.

I remember reading an article a couple years ago about Henderson where they broke up his stats into two players (his 1st, 4th, 5th, etc. best seasons to one player and his 2nd, 3rd, 6th, etc. to another) and came to the conclusion that Ricky Henderson could have been two borderline Hall of Famers. He was just ridiculous.

He's part of the reason I became an Orioles fan growing up. As he was only with the Yanks and A's in the 80's, Baltimore was the closest AL team to me. My grandpa was an O's fan so that had something to do with it but also I would make my grandpa take me to a Baltimore game every time Henderson was in town. My dad always wanted me to go to Phillies games with him, but they weren't as fun if I wasn't watching Rickey Henderson.

That really is just one brutal lineup. the 2, 3, and 5 hitters, were the top 3 in Batting Average
4 guys with on base % over .400 (after they got Henderson)
3 of the top 4 in hits (Alomar is 8 away from all 3 having 200 hits)

and ya still have Joe Carter, Tony Fernandez (who hit .306 that year), and Devon White

I've never seen one player dominate a game the way Rickey used to. Baseball isn't a sport generally where one player can do that, it's not like basketball, but Rickey could. I think he's top 10 all time greatest players easy.
