but, you ran two miles just today
While no doubt developing all sorts of bad breathing, pacing and form habits in the process. I literally do not know how to run. Hence the "can't." Yet here I am, beating on.
beat on, pal

Pretty satisfying 10k tonight. Great weather on tap for several days. I feel pretty comfortable but am sad the marathon is out the window.

Nice, mellow 10-miler last night with my son on his bike. Monsoon was blowing in.

Don't feel too bad. I'm probably out as well. Ran 15 on Sunday and felt fine. An hour later both heels were screaming with every step. I took days off and ran 8.5 today. Same shit. I think it might be time for me to dial back my running. I don't do any weights anymore, and my eating and drinking habits are awful, so I'm skinny fat. I don't feel right at all. I think I need more balance. 10 miles is a nice run on a Sunday. My husky can start running with me in October. 4-5 mile runs with her will be fun. I might try cross fit. I know it's cult-like, but I miss working out with people.

I definitely feel like my core strength is not where it needs to be for 26.2. I actually feel much stronger running 20 to 25 miles week. I need to play soccer more. Only time in my life I ever had abs was when I played twice a week on top of my running when I was 26.

So I know I don't really have a leg to stand on, being a casual jogger more than anything else, but I'm watching a co-worker of mine totally overdo it on Strava and it's driving me nuts. She'll run 7 miles, then a few hours later she'll run two more. Then the next day she'll do like three different mile runs. She's doubled her weekly goal of ten miles and it's not even the weekend yet. It's none of my business but it still drives me nuts. Mostly because she's a bartender and now I have to deal with her complaining about how sore she is on her shifts. She doesn't run and I'm kind of worried about her.
Remember that Saved By The Bell episode when Jessie was on diet pills? This feels a lot like that.

She'll hit the wall. Don't worry.

The iPods being discontinued has gotten me thinking about what Apple and whoever else expect people who run and work out to do if they want to listen to music. What is the product you are supposed to use for that these days? And don't say strap a gigantic phone to your arm.

Grab an iPod shuffle next time you're at the pawn shop?

I would imagine iTunes only has so many years left. Everything will be streaming. I'm just curious what people who listen to music use out there since I don't. Big fucking phone strapped to my forehead would not be an option.

Ah. Didn't know the whole story there. That is a quandary. Not sure either, but I'd imagine wireless headphones and wearables have something to do with it. The future's not always terrifying.

First time tripping and falling today. I didn't even notice I was bleeding until the workout was over. Shortly before the fall, a bum was asking me where the nearest bike repair shop was. I was probably a little bit rude in my response to him so it makes sense that karma would come through and scrape me up shortly thereafter.

All things considered, solid weekend. Pretty happy with my mile repeats this morning.

I ate shit 4 times in my last 50K.
I've been falling a lot. Between deteriorating core strength and sketchy coordination my trail running and downhill running, in particular, is going to pot.
Getting old sucks.

Just finished a gigantic smorgasbord of wedding food samples. This is why I'm running.
Rested an extra day between workouts because my legs were super sore all during my last run. That made a world of difference today! Maybe my most comfortable 2+ miles yet. So why didn't my average pace improve?
