Do you really think Shepherd is a sad-o record? I think it's got some of his happiest, most hopeful lyrics on there. He talks about love and marriage in a way that's full of joy. There's plenty of death and shit, sure, but I think especially on that record it's framed in terms of acceptance and wonder, awe even, at the enormity of it all.

oh i agree with all of that, I just wouldn't object to Jorge lumping it in with the other stuff based on a cursory listen
