Seems like a horrendous idea even putting aside ethics.) and that Mike McDaniel and team and independent doctors are all awful human beings but man I'd just rather wait and see what info comes out before jumping to conclusions.
Yeah that seems the more logical take. God probably doesn't exist.

This was my thought since the first time he ran a couple of plays at the end of that Jets game. He's never looked big enough out there and he exposes himself to hits he should never take. Somebody already said it but he had no business getting hit on that play. He had all day long and didn't either throw it away or run. Really sucks, he was looking good this year, possibly even turning a corner. It just doesn't feel like he has the body to last in this league.

True. And a goddamn shame. I'd say he turned quite a huge corner. Perfect fit with the coach and roster. But just one or two boneheaded plays a game can mean the end of his career for him. Just watch Brady; how he goes down and avoids big hits. You'd think he'd have learned that by now. Big fat fingers crossed this was a fluky last couple of games and he'll come back strong from this and learn from it.

Sure hope so for his sake. If he still wants to be an NFL QB, I hope he can make it happen and can do it more safely. I don't know how he wouldn't play scared after this, though. (Not blaming him btw, I'd be scared out there, and unfortunately it seems like he probably should be, too.)

Well, considering the hip injury in college, he should already have been playing scared if he were ever going to. I truly doubt he will. Hopefully just smarter.

right. also, gotta believe miami is looking at whomever they can pickup in the draft or free agency. i've no idea who that would be, but it's still a business, and this investment is losing value.

It's weird because a play like last night he didn't look scared. If he was, he woulda thrown the ball away a long time before probably. But there have been multiple plays this season against the Pats and Ravens where there's a free rusher and he almost completely locks up for a half a second before trying to get away. Deer in headlights kinda stuff.

I wouldn't have interpreted it like that. There's a lot to process as a QB and I'd say he's more trying to make a play. But if I were his coach after these last two scares, I'd say "fuck the play if you ain't sure it's there; your health is more important"

I didn't suggest something nefarious happened, just that something careless might have happened. He was clearly concussed and I think it would have been prudent to keep him under medical observation overnight rather than put him on an airplane. However, while you can make an argument that the NFL should be incentivized to be *more cautious* than necessary given the amount of scrutiny, you can make a parallel argument that the NFL is incentivized to downplay the hit that had everyone on Amazon Prime last night clutching their stomachs. I'm not weighing in one way or the other, but I don't think it's entirely self-evident that the only course of action for the league is to take this very seriously. "Look, he's actually fine!" would be another way to go about it.

I'm not saying they're doing this. I'm completely agnostic about why he was released early. Maybe he was okay! I'm suspicious of that. Maybe he wasn't okay but evil Roger Goodell said he had to go home. I'm suspicious of that too. I just don't think anyone can say with authority that the Concussion Factory took the most recent public concussion seriously.

4/5 is right...Tua has brought many of his injuries upon himself because he doesn't get rid of the ball when there's no play to be made. His ankles, his hip and now this are all exactly that. Saban talked about it the year he was drafted. The exceptions are last week (late hit) and the Jesse Davis/Brian Flores broken ribs.
If the damn hip thing didn't change him, you never are. And that means you need to move on. And I love Tua to death...
