Yep, eclectic is a much better argument. They've been eclectic enough to put some fans off, and they're still doing it.

i am a little happier with eclectic than experimental. i am mostly on board with everything lament said except perhaps for including tool on his boundaries list.

No one brings up the Smashing Pumpkins here. The seem like a fairly obvious point of comparison, pseudo longevity aside. Could you argue that a record like Adore is a much greater departure from anything else in their catalog than No Code or Binaural were for Pearl Jam

Adore left a taste of vomit in my mouth. I've never disliked a band so quickly after hearing a new album. It took many years for me to respect TSP again.

I've never heard Adore. But it sounds like what happened after I heard 'If Not Now When' by Incubus.

It is a good album but pretty far from the 3 previous records. All down hill from there

Haha, Adore is my second-favorite SP album (behind Siamese Dream). Love it.

i love Adore. At the time it was a very difficult album, very challenging and different from the previous one. I dont think SP fans appreciated that, the backlash was pretty big, but its really good.... To Sheila, Ava adore, Perfect, Daphne Descends, For Martha, Behold the nightmare..Blank page..all great songs.

I see the relation between MCATIS and Adore with Vitalogy/No Code, but i think PJ always worked more as a real band than SP.

It wouldn't lag if you just closed the 7 chatroulette windows on your browser, man.

Let The Records Work or Let The Records Study would have been so much more in depth!
