Album beats expectations. Always a good thing. Everyone seems happy for different reasons.

also, eddie is trying on different vocal styles throughout - david byrne, bruce springsteen, michael stipe, peter gabriel. it doesn't sound like him.

i wonder how that happened.

i'm just going to answer all these questions with josh evans.

Opposite for me. Pearl Jam on steroids and 7 years to think.

there’s such a lushness to this record and I imagine this is still a bit of a sh*t copy

I voted 4 stars for the album but if 4.5 was an option i'd have gone that high, especially given the context of where we're at in the bands career.

Super early rankings:

1. Quick Escape
2. Dance of the Clairvoyants
3. Who Ever Said
4. Seven O'Clock
5. Alright
6. Buckle Up
7. River Cross
8. Comes Then Goes
9. Take the Long Way
10. Superblood Wolfmoon
11. Retrograde
12. Never Destination

it's definitely being held back by the quality. can't wait for the wet blanket to come off.

I'm probably not going to listen much until I get a better quality copy.

Somebody said before that some of these sound like Christmas singles...and Buckle Up is 100% a Christmas single, and a good one

Comes Then Goes hit me like a ton of bricks, squad. It's my top song at the moment.

The message is clearly about losing someone you love and I've had my share of deaths this year already.

Its placement after Buckle Up was great.

The reviews that said the album peters out (no offense, chud) were accurate, Retrograde and River Cross are the lowest points of the album for me.

First listen rankings:

1. Comes Then Goes
2. Quick Escape
3. Dance of the Clairvoyants
4. Buckle Up
5. Take the Long Way
6. Alright
7. Who Ever Said
8. Never Destination
9. Seven O'Clock
10. Superblood Wolfmoon
11. Retrograde
12. River Cross
