The only way that makes sense to me is if the people in question are all operating under the "I got mine, fuck the rest" way of thinking.

It’s ok that you guys don’t believe it or can’t see it. You didn’t believe there was any chance that Trump would beat Hillary either, almost every poll said it was impossible, and obviously that happened. We’ll see what happens come election time. Most Americans put the economy over every other issue, and the economy is doing remarkably well. That bodes extremely well for re-election chances.

When did it become OK to repost something after it gets bottom-paged?

Must suck to have that fragile of an ego.

That's a much more nuanced, clear reading of a wide range of polls that hypothesizes several causes and outlines several potential outcomes. It's on a whole other level from the piece posted from USA Today, which was the politics equivalent of a Today Show feature on how two glasses of red wine a day will help you live to be 150 (based on one footnote of a scientific paper on the health benefits of antioxidants in general).

I always use the "new post" button so I don't miss that stuff because, you know, I am not a monster.

Call it what you will. Dems have a history of unbelief and ignoring signs of things to come. Underestimating Trumps popularity amongst minorities just might be the reason they lose again in 2020.

This is from April 1st. The trend line of Hispanic approval above is updated all the way to May 30th. See if you can spot the broad trend in it.

Look, I still don't believe that happened either.

Sometimes you have to take the colloquial definition of a word over the literal, m'kay?

Look, McP, all I’m saying is it’s dangerous to continuously underestimate the man most of you hate. He seems to defy polls and liberal logic at every turn. Democrats feeling “safe” with minority voters only plays into his hand. As a Trump supporter, I hope you, and all Democrats, feel like he can’t pull more minority votes. Especially in the Black and Hispanic communities.

TBF, I do also think the economy and the large Dem field are big obstacles for them to overcome. Trump could try to run on economy, economy, economy, and it might be a successful way to reel in some independents, but to expect him to stay on message like that is a big ask.

FWIW, except for the 2018 midterms, where his party was trounced in nearly every competitive race.
