I mean it's about as useful as pointing at his inaugural crowd and saying, "See, he must have lost the presidency."

You do realize that in a country of 325+ million people, where even the largest sports arenas in major cities only hold 50k, the predicative power of this hovers just around zero, yes?
Yes, I’m fully aware of this. Also fully aware that Dems (including Hillary in ‘16) have never had consistent crowd sizes anywhere near what Trump usually gets. Also aware that the msm tends to deceptively underreport his crowd sizes while actively trying to make Dems crowds look significantly larger than they are. And like I’ve said this whole time, I love that you all want to minimize anything and everything he does. Keep doing that. Keep thinking that way. It only helps him in the long run. I’ll be much more nervous about his possible loss in the next election when Dems start being realistic about his accomplishments and his popularity. Until then I’ll sit back and watch you all lose your minds thinking “how could this possibly happen!?!?!” while he continues to implement policies that have the economy booming, taxes being lowered, etc, etc.

The economy voter is going to pray for us while migrant children die in concentration camps.

As others have pointed out, you're conflating any skepticism about his re-election here with a broad sense of the "mainstream media" narrative against Trump, and those are not the same thing. I've expressed in the last page along a very basic narrative of how "this" happened, along with my realistic appraisal of how likely it is to happen again and what factors might lead us there. You, on the other hand, seem to be clinging to the idea that Trump is actually a strong candidate without any substantive support beyond a vague sense that his numbers are going up among non-white voters. Considering that he lost the popular vote in 2016--and that the crux of the 2020 election most likely lies in the few mid-western swing states which he narrowly carried, a number of which either bucked historic trends of voting blue or which went blue in 2018, I would perhaps feel less confidant about his prospects for re-election (especially given that the factor you point to as key to his success, his undervaluing--which absolutely played a part in 2016, witnessed by Hillary's refusal to campaign in Michigan (!)--has most likely dissipated among serious political consultants). Which is a feeling, I suspect, you actually do share, which is why you're in here performing the very same wish-fulfillment operation you accuse Democrats of doing.

That people ultimately vote based on the economy is maybe the ideologyist idea in the world--but it's simply not true. Not in America and not anywhere else.

To what extent does anyone posting about politics on a Pearl Jam message board have an endgame?
