Not possible and not being done are too different things. This may have been in the article, I admit to not reading it all, but if the above clinic won't do it, you're right, they shouldn't give the treatment. But they should just do it. There are literally screenshots of emails between the clinic and parents. What more do you want?
But you can improve that process without taking away treatment options.

Just like with the COVID vaccine.

Snark aside, we are talking about the minds of children. They are designed by evolutionary forces to rapidly shift and adapt during adolescence. All mammals have this in common. Even the most thorough and accurate diagnosis could become inaccurate in a month through no wrongdoing on anyone's part. The children could literally just change. That's what kids do. And that's the core problem here and why it's so dangerous to medically treat kids versus psychiatrists and focused mental health support.

This is a pretty big oversimplified stereotype of kids. How many trans kids have you even met?Bi_3 wrote:Snark aside, we are talking about the minds of children. One day my kids loved Elsa/Frozen more than anything. Movies, songs, board games, puzzles, dolls, stuffies … anything and everything Frozen.B wrote:This is a pretty big oversimplified stereotype of kids. Then one day they fucking hate it. All of it. I can’t even play the Panic! or Weezer covers of the songs. Pure hate.

Rapid changes in physical self, mental development, and self-identity are common in adolescence amoung nearly all mammals. It's a key part of how evolution powers changes in population level groups. Human adolescents have it even harder as they have thousands of competing socially and culturally constructed roles to choose from. It is and has always been perfectly natural for adolescents to move between them, with some being simple like peer groups (e.g. a school club) and some being more complex like sexuality. You might even say that sense of self is 'fluid'. The human mind and the body have evolved to demand this process so they can grow and reach their steady-state. Interrupting this carries incredible risk and those who support it will have to reconcile that they are going to cause irreversible damage to a large number of children who were lost in the middle of this maze in order to help those who would benefit... and they are going to have to accept they have no way of knowing which is which until it's too late.
And that's before we get into what for-profit medicine is going to do here

Understandable. Many adults feel threatened by middle school biology

Glad I’m not in Tennessee. Still not really sure why the fuck anyone cares about this. Not to say I haven’t had my interactions with asshole people. Had a girl at my work rambling something about pedophiles after using the bathroom one day…and I normally blend in as a girl too. Shit’s bananas fam.

What if I told you that politicians push policy catering to their majority base in the sole interest of being re-elected?

Bammer I’m curious, what do you see the other side (dems etc) doing that you feel is comparable to what the governor in the video B posted is doing? I take your post to mean you think this kind of stuff is just the usual politics and both sides are doing it.Bammer wrote:What if I told you that politicians push policy catering to their majority base in the sole interest of being re-elected?

True most people don’t care. Also most people don’t vote so … fire up the ones that vote.
