I have Billie Eilish tonight with my 14 year old girl and Wild Pink tomorrow night with some friends. Gonna be tired Saturday morning.

The US Mayhem tour was canceled. Considering going to Better Lovers instead since it's on the same night that show was gonna be, but they have three openers (ugh)

since her name came up, i'll add that we decided to add billie eilish on the 11th after some face value floor tix became available the day of. i know only a couple songs of hers, but i figured she'll be touring stadiums sooner than later and thought this could be the last opportunity to see someone like her up close. show was in the round and surprisingly enough the floor was not oversold and so we had plenty of room even only being maybe 50ft from her when she was over on our side. she did a great job getting around to all areas and so i don't think there could've been a bad spot in the house no matter where you were. the production was great, and even though it looks like she plays the same show night-to-night, none of it felt sterile or routine. she's a great performer. i can't say i came away wanting to do a deep dive into her catalog or anything, but there wasn't anything about her show that i didn't enjoy. and i can't deny the energy the mostly half-my-age crowd brought - even during the set break between the opener (towa bird, who was also great and worth checking out) and billie the crowd stayed amped - and it was kind of fun being the old people in the room. the first time we went to the arena bar after we got there the bartender said 'oh my god THANK YOU for being here i've only been serving kids all night,' to which we were like, 'thanks, i guess?'.

it's weird only having one show now on the calendar for the next few weeks.

I pulled the trigger on tickets to see Wilco in Tulsa on 12/11.

It's billed as "An Evening with Wilco," and is the second of two shows, the other being the night before. There will be no repeats. My wife and I have seen Wilco, but never together. The first and only time I saw Wilco was also at Cain's Ballroom in March of 2008.

Looking forward to it.

Ohhhhh - I see Opeth are coming next November. Seriously tempted!

they did not, in fact, make it until then. However, I Am Morbid, essentially a Morbid Angel cover band with more original members of Morbid Angel than Morbid Angel itself, is taking over. So it's disappointing but I'm still gonna go.
