The MAGA crowd is constantly showing America exactly who they are, and the media is constantly desperate to provide them some kind of plausible deniability. It's hilarious. Of course Donald Trump wasn't kidding. Whether that means he doesn't care if they vote once he's termed out because he's all about him, or whether that means he wants to dismantle democracy, it doesn't matter. It's all the same thing. He has never wanted to be president in a democracy. He has only ever wanted to be King.

It’s very tin hat to think that in a single four year term Drumpf would somehow undo nearly 250 years of how the US government works.

However 250 years is the average lifespan of a societal empire throughout human history so perhaps we are due.
