You know what would be hilarious? If for one tour Pearl Jam played the exact same setlist every night. It would be super well rehearsed, performed incredibly well, and everyone would bitch about it.

Yeah OK, I'd complain for the entire run-up, and then buy the album, throw my hands into the sky and cry with repentance. Then I would run into my garden (OK, wheel into my garden) to build a bonfire, upon which I would place a copy of Backspacer and Lightning Bolt and a wicker effigy of Brendan O'Brien. Then I would light it. I would light that bonfire like no bonfire has ever been lit before, and the smoke and ashes would rise up all the way to Valhawaii, the residing place of the Gods of Boom (of whom Boom is a Fortunate Son), where it would be accepted as a suitable sacrifice and return not only my diminished fandom, but all the damaged world and its creation, to perfect form.

This was a great post. Combine it with your Stonehenge dance one, and you might've converted me to your pagan ritualism.

I have petitioned the Nobel Committee to have a prize category for 'pearl jam related message board posting' but I haven't heard back from them. That was before they would have heard how great lightning bolt is, though. I'll follow up again tomorrow.

This version of Rats was awesome! Love the slower tempo!

Yeah this was all pretty enjoyable. I don't think Rats was played any slower than the studio version, it's just that Matt usually speeds it up. Nice to see Boom playing Future Days instead of BoB...

I think it's a hair hair slower, or if it's not then it's the exact same tempo. Still, when do they NOT speed up the songs? Not that often, lol.

Also is this tuned down? That's kind of weird

I didn't think it was tuned down (I need to listen to Vs.), but PJ have / do tune down a fair few of their songs now. They tuned down a lot of Backspacer songs and they've just tuned down "My Father's Son".
