The most random horror theme song ever, like it was written for a sitcom. They should've kept Fall Break as the title of the film.

"Daughter" (2022)

a WONDERFUL, bleak, weird, disturbing and darkly funny captivity cult movie that I would have put on my best-of list for that year if I'd known about it

Looks like the new Wolf Man got bad reviews but I thought it was pretty solid.

It was a huge letdown for me, expected so much more from the director

same, it could have been more complex but it was a simple idea well executed, I didn't find it dull

"The Rule of Jenny Penn"

really liked it; kind of a drlyly funny but grim "slasher" set in a nursing home

I can't decide if I think it could've gone more batshit or I admired its subtlety

"Fréwaka" on Shudder

loved this, it was really excellent and joins the ranks of great Irish fairy horror (along with You Are Not My Mother, The Hole in the Ground and The Hallow); also lots of it is in the native language which I love

Drop.

very veryyyy stupid but fun! looks good too. Christoper Landon is such a weird director, the guy has some very cool ideas but his movies are mostly frustratingly stupid.

but fun!

I feel the same. Very stupid but I loved all the little cinematic touches they used to keep you engaged. The ending was terrible though, everything from the moment
Spoiler: show
she figures out who the bad guy is and confronts him is really really dumb. And I guess gunshot wounds are no big deal in this movie's world.

I love the book, and Murphy is a good choice to produce this. Very interested!

Angel Heart.

Damn, what a classic. Parker sure knew how to frame. Mickey Rourke was as good as a young Brando. What a shame he wasted his talent. Lisa Bonet, what a doll.

very fucking dark and grim.

The whole opening sequence of the new Final Destination is tremendous. It's worth the price of admission alone. Great disaster filmmaking. The rest of the movie isn't quite so good, often formulaic and kinda dumb, but it's still fun. Some of the deaths are really good. But the opening is on another level.
