Even Fox News polls now have fewer than 30% of respondents wanting to do away with it completely. Most significantly, it is one of a number of topics on which independent voters have traditionally sided with Republicans, but where Gallup polling shows that a significant amount of the polling shifts have occurred among that group.

Whatever the cause or eventual effect, there has absolutely been a measurable decrease in support for the dismantling of the ACA among Republican voters, and a broad increase in favorability for the ACA among independents since the election. Which is exactly why I think the new tactic will be to use other measures to undermine its ability to succeed (i.e. the pulling of PSAs) and then turn around to say "see, we told you it would never work."

Maybe there's a shift, but random people aren't suddenly becoming political enough to show up at town halls to shout down republicans. It's an organized effort from democrats or various anti-trump groups.

In all four states, Republicans are racing to strip back the influence of labor unions, a key Democratic constituency.
