Why yes. Yes it is.Kevin Davis wrote:Isn't that from "Ole?"
Full disclosure: I had no idea what Stip was talking about. So I quoted Ole because it applied and I had a feeling he wouldn't know what it was from and then we'd be even.

I think he meant that my hatred for "Mind Your Manners" is the one exception to my usually impeccable judgment.
He sometimes refers to it as "The 'In the Moonlight' Exception,' but he knows his audience in this case.

Am I the bigger idiot for not getting it? Or is stip the bigger idiot for not getting In The Moonlight?

I concede that In the Moonlight might just not appeal to my tastes but is theoretically a decent song.
Mind Your Manners is a great song, and KD is just wrong for thinking so poorly of it. It's borderline offensive.

I appreciate your concession. And, frankly, agree with you on the second point. But I don't want to get in the middle of a fight.stip wrote:I concede that In the Moonlight might just not appeal to my tastes but is theoretically a decent song.

To me this mostly makes that press release they sent sound disingenuous and weaselly.
I know this topic is tiresome and I don't want to take away from the conversation in the last couple pages so I'll shush about it.

the drummer thing does matter
because this the litmus test for this asinine exercise in self congratulation is 'fame' , and pearl jam rose to fame with Dave A behind the kit and not matt c

Re: HALL OF FAME!!!!!!
Overall i was disappointed by Dave Letterman. Not because it was a bad speech. Dave was classic dave and it was touching and somewhat personal.
However, when you watch the speeches Ed has gave - he set the bar really high. He is so personal and deeply impacted by the musicians he's inducted and the speeches are just wonderful.
I wanted someone on a similar level.

He was probably a hundred times better than Neil would have been.

I only really noticed a lot of Eddie Vedder talk in that speech, and not as much Pearl Jam.

Re: HALL OF FAME!!!!!!
Eds intro for REM was wonderful. talked about each individual band member and their contributions, personal, touching, and well rounded.
