I thought Incredibles 2 was fantastic. The short was odd though.

I didn't really like the first one all that much, so I can't imagine I'll see the second one anytime soon. But I'm tempted. I'm tempted.

If you didn't like the first I'd doubt you'd like the second. My wife did say she thought the second one was way better so who knows.

I should really watch the first one again. People love it. But I remember it being really flat and uninteresting.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

It might be, I'm still thinking about it. I can see my son and wife in the characters a little bit, especially as he's starting to fully become a teenager.durdencommatyler wrote:Exactly. It was really good.tree_ wrote:no, it wasn'tbune wrote:Watched Lady Bird. It was OK I guess.

It captures time and place and that specific growing up moment sho masterfully. And those performances!bune wrote:It might be, I'm still thinking about it. Pacific Rim Uprising. I wasn't keen, but the wife wanted to watch it. It was really bad!

I watched Starship Troopers for the first time this weekend. During the movie I thought to myself “LV and Burt probably love this.” After some RM searching, I see I’m not wrong.

Also watched Moana and Incredibles 2. It’s been a big movie week for the WM household.

I liked it. I get the sense there’s some layers to unpack if you let yourself. First time around, I just enjoyed it for the surface-level space flick aspect.LoathedVermin72 wrote:It’s a masterpiece.

I didn’t love it as much as you do but I loved it a hell of a lot more than Joey does.

Love Simon. A well done, sweet coming of age story with a gay theme obviously targeted toward a mainstream YA audience. It was a modest success that came and went with barely a peep from the social right and/or evangelical crowd. That by itself kind of surprised me, considering the controversy around Brokeback Mountain. I know that was over a decade ago but it shows how much society norms have shifted.
Another movie shot in Atlanta. Clint Eastwood just wrapped shooting some scenes in my hometown for his next film.

Look up handsome devil. It’s tackled all this with far more realism and stripped of all mtv nonsense. A much better film.
