Neither of those sound better to me. Also, they’re the same amount of words...
Syllables. He meant syllables.

I think saying “took her way too soon” instead of “away too soon” may be slightly better though.
welcome to the nitpick olympics.
Instead of saying Superblood Wolfmoon, I hope he just goes SBWM live.
the whole song should be la da da.

Well the first one is still the same amount of syllables either way so we’re splitting atoms here.

They really should have focused the whole song around the la da da part

Wait, "she was taken too soon" and "I lost her too soon" are the same amount of syllables?
I've been saying a few words wrong all my life then.

SBWF Reprise as a hidden track. La da da-only version.

Getaway is sooo much better than SW.
This take mesmerizes me. Getaway sounds tepid, lifeless, and forced. Whatever you think of the songwriting in this song, the band at least sounds like THEY think they’re killing it.

Getaway is redeemed, just barely, because of Jeff.
He plays the vocal melody? Also, what?

Well, technically yes, but on his bass.
lol

Lyrically, this is one of the laziest singles since the Fixer

Yeah, I think the actual problem some people have with it is the meter. The syllables are fine.

He's not cramming too many words/syllables in, he's just forced to put emphasis on the wrong part of "away", which makes it sound awkward. You would have the same awkwardness with "I lost her too soon" because it doesn't fit properly. "She was taken too soon" fits in perfectly, but I don't know that it would actually sound any better. I don't mind the odd bit of awkwardness like this in a fun song.

If anything, I would've added one more "La da da" section right before "She was a stunner" (and I probably will when I get a chance).
Then again, I don't make better music, nor better music decisions than these guys, so another turd in the wind I guess.

The song is fine you bunch of sourpusses

Farmer John wrote:As far as the structure, I'm calling the "Superblood Wolfmoon took her away too soon" parts the chorus. The solo section is the bridge. Not sure what to call the "la la la" part since it's kind of like the chorus but without the lyrics.

The rest is all verses the keep building into different parts.
Why do people think the part that repeats twice is the chorus and not the part that repeats four times and ends the song?

I have my reservations about "Superblood Wolfmoon" but I'll take it over "Getaway" eight days a week. "Superblood," for me, is nowhere near the worst of "LB."

It doesn't matter except for people knowing what you mean if you say "I like the chorus".

I like how it's hard to agree which part of the song is what.

Shit, you are correct. When I hear things like that it just seems like lazy writing/singing. Ed seamlessly makes it work in Sleight, but that was pre-PRAMG Ed so...
