Ran 2.25 miles in right at 23 minutes and went a total of 2.65 miles with walking in 30 minutes, then worked on chest, shoulders and abs with the weights, but now Im having some stomach issues that i think are from the running. I havent been diagnosed but I've at least got IBS if not chrones or cholitis and i think the bouncing around while running is causing the pains Im feeling at the moment.
Good workout but now Im hoping i can find a way to avoid the pain because i was having to deal with it when i was running earlier this year, so i think it will be a regular thing

"Runners trots" is a common thing, Doc. However I think it normally involves just shitting yourself while running (due to pushing yourself beyond your body's capabilities). I'm not sure it's usually associated with stomach pain, so it might be worth having it checked out.
Actually are the pains more like a cramp/stitch, or are they more like a gut ache?

They feel exactly like when i have a flare up of what ever my intestinal issue is when certain foods cause it, only when its caused by food it always comes with the need to use the bathroom, right now i don't i just have the pains, which to me resembles the same stomach pains you can get if you get hit in the nuts
I wouldn't call it cramping, i guess it could be considered an ache, but I've always put stomach aches and nauseousness (sp?)

How long before your run do you drink water, and how much do you normally drink? Also, do you normally eat something before your run, if so how long before do you eat it and what size portions are they?

I posted about the mistake of dinner before the gym

but usually i don't eat first, we have going in the evening after work, so my last meal is lunch, but tonight i ate a couple to granola bars because i was feeling hungry, and as far as water, Im pretty sure Im not drinking enough, i didn't have any before the run tonight, and i usually can't drink while running so i didn't have any until after the run. I read something a few minutes about how to prevent IBS pains after running and lots of water before and after was the main recommendation, so ill probably try that before my run tomorrow night

Yeah, it's possibly mainly the lack of water, and possibly the food.
Usually before a run, I'll eat a banana, apple, or plums about an hour before hand (these are usually digested fairly quickly, and provide a good energy boost).
Then I'll drink about 500ml of water about half an hour before. Usually cold (i.e. fridge/ice) water is better as it's absorbed faster through the stomach.
You don't necessarily have to do the fruit thing, but I'd recommend you try having the water before you go out.

Yeah, Im gonna try more water before the run tomorrow, and i might try a better snack before for a bit of energy. But i don't think I've had any energy issues so i might skip food all together before hand

Got in a mixed workout last night; my second of two back to back visits. I did much better on the treadmill, getting in a little over a mile and a half in 20 minutes but I cut back some on my squats & lunges and made sure my form was correct. Top part of my knees were hurting a little bit and I didn't want to strain them. I've noticed lately going up stairs they feel a little tender. I'm hoping it's just something temporary and not part of this getting old thing I hear so much about.

I had a good workout tonight, though it was kinda all over the place.
Started with weights tonight, i used some free weights to do 3 sets of 3 different shoulder lifts, then did 3 sets on the crunch machine, 1 set of curls, 1 set on each of the shoulder machines, 2 sets on the reverse row machine and 2 sets on the peck deck machine backwards so it worked my shoulders and back. After all of that i true to run and struggled, i was only able to run a mile and a quarter in about 13 minutes and i had to slow to a walk, but i was about to pass out at that point, so even though i was disappointed with the distance it was still a good run. After that i did 2 more sets of crunches, 1 more set of curls and a set in each direction on the machine to kneel on and rotate your hips to lift the weight.
I don't know if i can move now

Oh, and it was a shorter run today, but the only stomach pains right now are the mild lingering ones from yesterday, so hopefully the water helped

Back on the treadmill after dislocating my right shoulder this past Tuesday. Still sore but I've found if I internally rotate my arm and grab the collar of my shirt with my right hand I can run with no discomfort. I have a few races scheduled this week that I need to get through and my poor connective tissue isn't going to stop me.
I would like to also forewarn you all that as Thanksgiving approaches, please don't senselessly gorge on food. Its gross. Personally, I spend way too much cash on business attire in a 32 inch waist and jeans that cost too much to gain weight on this excuse to be a glutton of a holiday.... but seriously.... its just gross and sad.

I ran twice this weekend. 14 miles up and down a mountain on Saturday and a 15-mile canal run on Sunday. Weather was wet and cold. Perfect for running.
Not feeling great about my running these days. 135 miles is looking doubtful for my 24-hour race and I'm really not interested in doing it if I'm not gonna make the national team. It'll take about a month to fully recover from the race and that'll put me out of commission during prime running season in AZ.

I guess i did something wrong tonight because i just spent the last hour trying my best not to throw up

. Chloe thinks my blood sugar dropped, but i finished my last set on a weight machine and was walking to the lockers and just got really nauseous. I also decided that Im gonna move my running to the end of the work out, i ran 2.2 miles today and the struggled with the weights because i was too exhausted, but i managed to do 5 sets of crunches, 3sets on the peck deck machine, 3 sets of bench presses, 2 sets of rows and 2 sets of the pull downs.
I do feel like my best night with the weights was this past Friday when i did weights before cardio, but then i felt disappointed with the distance of my run, so ill have to get used to what i can to after lifting
