so the narrative has pretty much been that crazy people are the ones responsible for mass shootings, not the guns themselves. and that made trump's tweet yesterday about having the doj lobby for the institution of the death penalty for all those responsible for mass shootings all the more contradictory. after all, if those responsible are truly crazy, then they not only would seemingly be unfit to stand trial, but they most certainly couldn't be sentenced to death because they arguably lacked/lack the capacity to understand what they hell they were/are doing.
