I just thought it was some kind of vibroblade from the sw rpg games back in the day. Like a more powerful stun baton they use in TFA or the guards use in TLJ

Best part was when they said the Moff killed someone for interrupting him. Imagine being a regular guy working for these maniacal over the top villains...trying to do your job...and Darth Vader strangles your boss cause he doesn't like his tone. I'd keep my head down too.
