I actually came here to post this after a YouTube video I saw today mentioned the Grand Northern Conspiracy. When Jon started rolling around and so many houses said "no"--and after the Umbers betrayed Rickon--I knew it wasn't going to happen in the show. However, it may be the case that the two texts end up at the same endpoint (Jon as king) just by different paths.
