Borderlands. Tough call. That county was a sundown community for a long, long time.
yeah, it's not ideal! luckily I'll be staying with them and won't have to be alone in accommodation
It's weird how the world works. You'll be staying in the community that was lynching Black people into the 50s, but you're also 20 minutes away from one the hottest LGBT+ scenes in North Carolina.
oh really? they haven't mentioned that, is that still in Creedmoor?

No we can't, because when you dig up the outlier picture of a drag queen in some actual lingerie reading books to kids, I'll ask why none of the laws proposed by bigots are written to eliminate events for children by people wearing only undergarments.
These events
signal that people who dress extravagantly, differently, and/or as a gender other than their own are as harmless as a beloved librarian and are as important to the community as any other member. That's all the value I need from an event.
Public decency laws already exist to reduce children's exposure to adult behaviors. It's the reason strip club and adult store windows are covered.
I like Ms Harmless' answer, it makes sense from her perspective on it. BUT, let's be honest here, no one would give a shit about 'Native American Story Hour' or 'I-just-got-out-from-20-years-for-frist-degree-murder Story Hour'. There is something unique about DQSH right now that makes it so volatile... and it's going to be an increasingly risky activity as 'MAP' normalization moves further into the cultural discussion because that's red line and the gun toting crazies showing up to these events won't be willing to see the difference between a drag queen and a pedo.

thanks for comparing us to paedophiles Bi_3
my perspective on it is the LGBTQ+ perspective on it
also, Native American teachers exist and drag queens aren't anything like murderers

you very clearly believe that allowing us to exist around your children is endangering them; I don't know whether you see that, but it's there and it fucking stinks

I can't believe you actually implied that the solution to stopping "gun-toting weirdos" from killing us is just... not having us around, so there's no one to kill
don't worry, I wouldn't go to you for help if I was facing violence

None of that is true. The posts are public and can be clearly interpreted by anyone not predisposed to misreading them.

this is what your bullshit communicates Bi_3; either listen to one of us tell you that, or just keep not listening; keep calling us crazy when we tell you what you're actually saying in your thinly veiled eternally-reasonable and pragmatic way, and admit that you'll never run out of reasons not to simply drop your prejudices

Bi_3 is incredibly close to having an "are we the baddies?" moment but couldn't deal with the shame of admitting it

Bi's nauseously centrist argument is that we shouldn't allow story hours because it might make Republicans mad? Lol who cares? What kind of cowardly way of going through life is that?
Personally, I don't think we should allow any state-sponsored activist indoctrination sessions for children under the guise of helping or educating children. But bi's logic is dumb. He should just go full woke if he's going to bend over backwards for interlocutors who explicitly tell him they aren't interested in debating with him in good faith.

Children need to be taught early that demanding public support for and participation with your paraphilia is a civil rights, simple as.

My nauseously centrist argument is that they are perfectly fine but have little meaningful value and are basically trolling the anti-trans zealots at this point, which is not really a smart move for the safety of the children gathered for the event.

Maybe next we should ban elections because someone somewhere might get hurt at a voting booth. WE MUST BE SAFE. SAFETY TRUMPS ALL.

There was literally a fight between between Proud Boys and some (literal) SJWs at one of these near me two weeks ago:

Plus this isn't a positive development either:

You are free to not care either way.

You will never convince even the most delusionally paranoid wokey - who thinks that there is a current and ongoing genocide in the streets outside - that you should cancel one of these because of an imminent threat (and I say this to their credit), so I don't even see why you are arguing this.
Do you think Republicans should cancel their events on college campuses because of the violent idiots threatening them? Of course not.
What are you even doing oh my goodness gracious
