Wease in all seriousness there's clearly something wrong with the hiring process at your workplace. Seems candidates who shouldn't have made it past the initial phone screen are getting calls for interviews, and candidates who shouldn't have made it past the interview process are getting hired

Re: The New & Unproved Work/Job/Career Thread
It’s all me. This last one was a good interview. If her resume and application were true, she had lots of good experience. I’m not above admitting when I’ve hired someone just to fill a spot, but it wasn’t the case here. We have a recruiter but all she does is posts the listing we submit. It’s up to me to review all the applications, call the ones I think we could hire and set up interviews if the call goes well, interview them (when they show up) and if we move forward with them, submit their offers for employment. Then, if they accept, I onboard them and set them up in the center to train them. Unfortunately, such as this case, the above steps sometimes don’t give me any indication that they would turn out like they do.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:I could be wrong but it seemed like past posts indicated he had a lot of autonomy in the process.Jorge wrote:Wease in all seriousness there's clearly something wrong with the hiring process at your workplace. We have three different review systems. Only one of them have results the public can see. All of my centers maintain high scores although we do get occasional bad reviews.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:Also does your org have online reviews? All the no shoes for interviews have made me wonder

Nope. One of the things we complain about. It’s hard enough to find the time to review all the applications. There’s no way we can go thru and call references.spike wrote:Do you ask for references and reach out to them?wease wrote:It’s all me. This last one was a good interview. Could you hit up the references once you've narrowed down the field? Like, even after the initial interview?wease wrote:Nope. One of the things we complain about. it wouldn't take up nearly as much time as hiring and training someone, only to fire them a couple weeks later.

The poor girl that wants to go out for dinner and drinks with one of our contractors asked me today why he didn’t seem like he wanted to join her (and her team), and whether she has to pay him for the day for that. All I could say was that it was probably the reason because he’s working for us to get paid, not go out for drinks in his free time. And then she says.. lol… omg I can’t help but love her a little for this…”but that almost makes him a prostitute.”

So getting paid for one’s work makes one a prostitute?pepperwhiteMFC wrote:The poor girl that wants to go out for dinner and drinks with one of our contractors asked me today why he didn’t seem like he wanted to join her (and her team), and whether she has to pay him for the day for that.
