I agree with you, and I would probably be ok with the band's choices, if I liked the music.
I included the self titled, so I should have said since 2002.
(it's evident this is totally personal)
I am a ninja on the internet. Lightning-fast responses, and far too many of them flying at your face like ninja stars from every direction.

No, I know what you mean, and I guess if you're really unhappy with the music, you have a valid complaint. I find it a little subpar since Riot Act. To me, PJ have 7 perfect albums, and 2 imperfect, good but flawed ones. I'm hoping LB is an improvement on those, but we'll see. S/T's problems were not due to BO'B, though, so I think that even if he wasn't involved, the signs of an ageing band would still be there. This need to please everyone and not get into arguments was why we got Inside Job on S/T, remember. An average song with terrible lyrics. But they wanted to honour Mike, and he was proud of it, so...
Sure, S/T was the band and Adam Kasper and also the first step for the change of commercial strategy, that led us to what we have now.(eg.sleeping by myself). But, let's be optimistic and wait.

I for one like SBM quite a bit and don't think I'll be unhappy with the album version. Unless there's something crazy about it that no one's mentioned yet.

Yo, there is an RM bashing thread up at synergy. Should we taunt the dynamite monkey?

I'm not banned from there. It doesn't look interesting though. Maybe I should go in there and say some really awful things about RM and see if I can get them going.

Dammit. They locked the thread right as I was trying to post this...

"They are the worst. You don't even know the half of it. Unfortunately their negative energy has a greater impact than most of us realize. I don't know how many of you know this, but Pearl Jam actually almost finished what became Lightning Bolt (it was called Rise Like The Tide at the time) in 2011, but some nerds from RM got their hands on a copy of it and shredded it apart (I'm not at liberty to say how, but it would make you sick if you knew). When Pearl Jam got wind of it and saw some of the commentary, it caused a pretty big crisis of confidence that ended with the band going back into the studio and essentially taking another two years to finish it. They tried to take legal action against the board, but they threatened to leak the tapes all over the internet, so they backed off. The messed up part is Rise Like The Tide was a seriously awesome album. Hopefully someday the band will put out an official version of it.

Those guys won't be happy until they get Pearl Jam to break up. Not a lot of people know this, but Dave A. contributes quite a bit of money to keep the site afloat. That should tell you what their intentions are.

The dark secrets of RM would terrify you."

Is somebody broke in Pearl Jam?
Mind Your Manners excluded, everything I've heard thus far seems like a desperate grab at the mainstream.

This was not the direction I was hoping for.

Pearl Jam shows are about to get really weird once this Sirens song hits the Top-40

If it were 1987 I would agree with you. I think this is honestly the type of music they want to make, but I have no idea why they would want to.

Gossiping about other sites is rude and we don't do that here. This thread is done.
