where are the best online sites you guys buy vinyl? trying to build a good list here.

Amazon.com (use camelcamelcamel.com to build your wantlist, then wait for the prices to drop to reasonable levels; don't forget those third-party sellers), Discogs.com (again, build ya wantlist), Soundstagedirect.com (new prices are similar to Amazon, but every once in a while they'll have sales, and it can be good to order in bulk), and also check the websites for the labels of some of your favorite bands; some, like Merge Records and Drag City, offer free shipping and wholesale prices.

There's always eBay if you're looking for deals, but that usually comes with the frustration of bidding. Honestly, though, i feel like the vinyl market on ebay has thinned out over the past few years.

thanks man! i use amazon a lot, but have only ever browsed Discogs to get an idea of used prices when I see albums in the store. I've noticed that about ebay too... either thinning out, or really hiking up some prices bc of the recent rise in vinyl popularity

I've gotten more great deals on Amazon, as there isn't as good of a notifications system for Discogs (but I've gotten a few there). Ebay just seems to be mostly flippers now.

Discogs is trouble, but I love it. I also use MIDHEAVEN alot, they're great and distribute mainly independent labels. INSOUND started off like that too, but they took a ton of SONY money so they're not really independent, but they can be good in a pinch. RECKLESS in Chicago used to have a great mail order set up but that seems to be on hold nowadays. Although SAKI and DUSTY GROOVE are two great Chicago stores that ship without headache. I like Aquarius Records a whole lot too, they're in SF and have a great little weekly email newsletter with reviews. Similar to AQ is FORCED EXPOSURE, they're awesome and carry some great titles. But in the end, I try to buy directly from labels when possible.

Well its the last PJ album I'd need to have them "all." I'll spin it for a while and then let it go. Sucks its a bootleg, but I'm looking to part ways with a few records I've had for some time that I don't really listen to so that will easily cover the cost.

i never realized there were bootlegged vinyl studio albums out there. weak.

Didn't realize there was a Pearl Jam market, but it makes sense. I guess there are orange copies of Binaural floating around and white No Codes as well.

Tool has the same sort of problems.

Isnt that basically what pj does on their vinyls anyway?

thanks for pointing this out. i went ahead and ordered a lp and 7" bundle set. at the price of one record for each set, for a total of $27 for 6 releases, this seemed worth the gamble.

of the lps i really, really like the william tyler 12". three songs, all instrumental, one a fantastic 13 minute long driving song. all three could fit on a soundtrack of a film about the midwest. a wonderful surprise.

Nice haul. That EP is fantastic. The Rother cover is unreal.
