Yeah, he's on my last nerve right about now. It's to the point that he doesn't get legitimate calls anymore because he flops so much.

I don't know what is going on with the Pacers right now. I believe it mostly speaks to how important matchups are in the playoffs.

If UD can shut down Hibbert like he did the last game and half against them in the regular season the Heat will win in 5 games. If Hibbert plays like he did in the ECF last year, this thing is going 6 or 7 and just about becomes a toss up.

A Heat/Pacers series is going to depend on Hibbert and Miami's players other than Lebron. I feel like George will neutralize Lebron enough where he has to depend on a guy or two stepping up each game.

While I wouldn't frame it exactly like that, I agree with your overall principle. I was feeling really cocky heading into the playoffs about a matchup with the Pacers because Wade was going to be healthy.

I think a lot of people have forgotten that in the Heat-Pacers series two years ago Bosh only played half of game 1 and was out and that Wade's knee was so bad he had to have it drained right before game 3 (and then went out to play one of the worst games you'll ever find from anybody ever)...in that series once Wade's knee had a couple days and the Heat adjusted their rotation, the Heat ran off the last 3 wins in that series with relatively little trouble. Fast forward to last year where Wade was basically useless and a net negative for almost the entire series. The Pacers didn't even bother covering him. When he was on the floor there was no spacing to speak of, so the Heat's once vaunted offense struggled to do anything. Meanwhile, Hibbert murdered us on the boards and David West almost ended Shane's Battier's career he beat him so badly. I think people have incorrectly just assumed that this series is automatically tough for Miami based on the last two years, when I think that outside factors contributed greatly.

So my thinking was that if the Heat are healthy, which they haven't been in the last two years, they will dispose of Indy without it being a real problem. Sure, the games will be tough and you'll have the physical drama, but the Heat won't be in real danger of losing the series. But Wade has been a huge bust so far in the playoffs, again. I know his shooting percentages look nice, but when's the last time he took somebody off the dribble and attacked the basket? He doesn't do it anymore, which suggests to me that he physically can't. Even when LeBron rests he doesn't really take over the offense, which he had been doing quite well all year. (He was averaging over 28 points per 36 minutes w/o LeBron on the floor) I love Wade so I hope that he can be a factor down the stretch, but right now he's not giving me much confidence and with the rest of the team (LBJ and Bosh aside) a notch or two below what they were last year, he's got to be the guy to cover up those weaknesses. If Wade plays ANYTHING like he can...even the 2014 regular season version of Wade...the Pacers are in trouble. If not...LeSigh.

Here's to hoping Washington can drag this series out an extra couple of nights.

Yeah as much as I loved the last Celtics championship team and that entire run I'm more than willing to concede that to a non Celtics fan that might be a top 3 all time annoying team.

As a non-Celtics/non-Heat fan, I found those Celtics teams to be infinitely more dislikable and obnoxious than the current Heat.

I spent a lot of the SVG/Magic-era living in Orlando. That dude is probably even more disliked here than Dwight Howard. The Magic fans I know here absolutely despise him.

Really? I feel like most Heat fans have generally nice things to say about him, though the team did win the title during the season in which he got fired...

I would imagine the "Happy Ending" the Heat had probably plays into that. It's like how you never hear Bulls fans talk negatively about Doug Collins.

The impression down here is that SVG went out of his way to try to make the whole Magic/Howard implosion as ugly as he possibly could and there's a lot of lingering resentment towards him for that.

Both of those things are definitely possible. My bias was that I never liked Shaq, so when he started up with Stan I was automatically on Stan's side. I felt like he got a raw deal here, so I rooted for him (casually) in Orlando, and I sympathized with him when it seemed like Dwight was pulling a Shaq.

I turned the late game off after Paul's jumper to put the clips up 7 with 50 seconds left. Ooops.

Luckily, I could rewind it later and watch the ending. Bananas ending. Series of mistakes by Paul. I'm glad they called the foul on the elbow contact during Westbrook's shot. The refs blew that same call in the Warriors series when Paul clearly fouled Curry.

I can understand Rivers being upset about the out of bounds replay but c'mon, you blew a huge lead for many other reasons.
