It is actually the first official tv spot though. No new footage but just reediited shots. Frames seem tighter too.

I love that siren sound. I do dislike that shot of the martial arts guy doing his thing. Seems out of place.

We first hear that siren sound in a new hope I think. When the falcon gets caught in the Death Star tractor beam. Long side shot of it coming towards the docking bay with the siren in a low key then it switches to a high key when we see it just about to dock.

They're using a lot of sound and visual language directly from the OT. One of the rebel members, think it's two tubes, has the same belt and similar breathing apparatus as Vader. Little things like that stuff that your eye doesn't even notice help take us there. Thank the nerds to sit down and get forensic about this stuff:)

it's too early to worry about any of this stuff until you see the final product.

Isnt it kind of weird to have a TV spot before an actual (not teaser) Trailer? Arent the TV spots just shortened versions usually?

maybe that ties in to why there was no finished trailer to show at star wars celebration.

I don't see how either of those articles gives us anything new to worry about. This is all stuff we've known for over a month now. The same questions still remain. But I appreciate THR articulating and reiterating that Gilroy also worked with Edwards on the final cut of Godzilla. So, his presence could have as much or more to do with Edwards and the need for a mentor/other set of eyes as it could with Disney interference.

Still don't care. Still not worried. Still super pumped for the movie. And as so many of us have said all along, it won't matter if the movie is good. My expectations are still sky high.

That's a good point. Maybe he's just the guy Edwards goes to at this stage to help him shape it. Just coming on the back of the story about the alternate cut for suicide squad & studio interference, it got me rattled.

Man I love Tony Gilroy. Edwards is smart.
