Sorry that you don’t believe something supported by repeated numerous tests, but surgical masks are effective at preventing bacteria/viruses from passing from one person to another. I’m sorry that your confirmation bias against this makes you susceptible to believing that one study that says differently wipes out decades of supporting information.

Bro come on. There are people with legitimate high risk factors if exposed to covid, and then there’s the rest of us (overwhelming majority). A patient laid out on a surgery table with their chest cavity gaping open is about as high risk as it gets. Anything foreign dropping in there (like a drop of saliva or perhaps a junior mint) could do major damage. So yes surgeons wear fucking surgical masks.
