I did see your review. I didn't take issue with any of it. I also think it's Spike's best film in decades. Top 5 film of the year for sure.tragabigzanda wrote:Strat we're watching Oceans 8 this weekend, if you wanna hop in your car now.
Joe did you see my review of Blackkklansman? Would leave to hear your thoughts, I think you mentioned you saw it but I couldn't find any sort of review. I can't stop thinking about it!

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. Also, I've never felt that way in a movie theater after a film before. The silence. The sense of community and togetherness. It was palpable and visceral. We were all in tears. People were hugging each other. It was a unique experience for me and one I'll always remember.tragabigzanda wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:I did see your review. I didn't take issue with any of it. Off the top of my head. Those were all good to fucking GREAT. Still, though, it has been a pretty lackluster year.

But actually no. I've never left a theater in such thick silence.

This makes sense. It's the only place in NYC that I like seeing movies. It's the only place I can go where audiences respect the movie theater experience.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Ugh. This makes sense. I'm with you on that top 2.tragabigzanda wrote:For Spike's top five, I'd probably go:
Do The Right Thing
Blackkklansman
25th Hour
Inside Man
Jungle Fever
Time will tell if Blackkklansman retains the #2 spot, but it is definitely up there.
