by the end I wasn't understanding it all but it was a weird, dryly funny, self-aware Gothic James Bond

I liked it quite a lot

Now that Weapons has been established as a success,

And as two of the bigger "brand name" directors in horror have begun to move away from horror a bit (Mike Flanagan and Ari Aster),

Probably the two current biggest "brand name" horror directors both got their breaks as sketch comedy actors (Jordan Peele and Zach Cregger).

It's been noted before, I'm sure, but it's worth noting

I would add Oz Perkins to that list, who was also an actor and of course, the son of Anthony.

"Hallow Road" by Babak Anvari is absolute cinema; I knew it would be, I already loved his "Under the Shadow"

I can't spoil or I give the game away but let's just say it's a Screen Ireland co-production

I actually enjoyed it. Its well done and gory enough. Of course its also a silly slasher but it was a fun one.
