Lost around 2.5 pounds this week, which is a nice pace to try to keep. Made a few rough decisions this week, too, so I’m glad it wasn’t a wash.

Beyond just looking at my numbers (25 pounds total since I started this about 10 weeks ago), my wife asked me the other day how I am feeling, which is what’s really important. I really think I’m starting to see some positive effects! I’m sleeping well, I haven’t had any body aches or sore knees or anything, and I’ve had good energy for some important events, like my daughter’s birthday a few weeks ago. There was also a moment when I was sitting on the kitchen floor with one of my kids, and I had to spring up to go help another one, and my wife immediately commented that I got up without groaning, without straining, and generally very spryly. It’s a tough time of year to really gauge results (very stressful start to the kids’ school year, plus they always bring home lots of illnesses in September, PLUS my medication has side effects), but I really think I’m starting to see progress.

I'm so disgusted with myself.

164.5 today. I am almost back to where I started.

I have zero discipline right now.

I'm sure 3-4 pounds of that is water weight, so I shouldn't freak too much but I was 156 in June.

Same boat, brother.

I got down to 172 and now I'm hovering around 180.

I stopped checking in here and that was an issue because I felt motivated and appreciated the support. When I started gaining, I came here less often.

I'm trying not to freak out too much because at the end of the day it's less than 10 pounds gained but I can see it in my face and belly.

When I started this, I wanted to see a reduction in puffiness to my face and overall a slimmer torso. I definitely accomplished both and answered some questions that I had, and maybe you've had too about weight loss:

1. Can you lose weight in your face? Yes, but you need to drop about 9-10 pounds to see a difference. I had Googled this before and it turned out to be true.

2. Is skin sagging/wrinkles from weight loss real? Yes, unfortunately. I only lost 15-16 pounds, but that was enough to leave a little skin sagging near my jowls and wrinkles near my cheeks when I smile. Doctor says skin should catch up and tighten up. I had Googled this too but thought it was limited to people who underwent massive transformations.

3.Can strength training help you lose weight? Hell, yes. Once I combined weight lifting with cardio the pounds started to shed.

Warehouse, what is your advice to maintain the weight? Workout and eating wise.

164.7

i think this might be my lowest in 9 years

what is encouraging is I am finally over whatever illness i had 1-2 weeks ago, such that i am able to do my full bike rides and exercises again

and in fact today did more chinups than ever - 8 sets of 10 chinups w/ legups on each pull - intermixed during my ~15 miles of bike riding

last time i weighed this little i was not this strong

i might be at my strongest and lowest weight in like 20 years

right now i am almost trying to gain more weight

but also dont

because i dont like how it feels

my stomach shrank

i like the feeling after i have shredded my abs

i like not feeling full-sick

these are all natural body adjustments that happened on their own

just kept hammering the pushups, situps, legups, chinups, and bike rides

skip breakfast, eat brown rice and beans, banza mac n chese, vegetables, colon blow, sprouted wheat pretzels, turkey meatballs, chicken sausage, fish

and fucking let mother nature metabolism get fired up again

hopefully i can keep this going

Weighed in today and I’m down another 4 pounds, so I’ve crossed the 30 lb threshold total. I’ve lost half the weight of one of my kids!

I had an appointment with my PCP on Monday, and it was the first time I wasn’t worried/concerned going into a medical appointment in….forever? There were a number of years (like between 2012 and 2021, probably) where I wasn’t keeping up with doctor’s appointments, and in retrospect that was disastrous for my health, but going in Monday I was excited to tell her about the progress I’ve made. I won’t go in for another 4 months, and if I keep up this pace, I should be down almost 75 pounds total when I see her again.

Down a nice steady 2.3 pounds this week, which is another milestone: I’ve lost 10% of my starting body weight. Only 90% to go!

Back down to 158, so that's six pounds dropped in a week and a half. I have to imagine I was just carrying water weight.

I take a diuretic for my blood pressure, and I have legitimately seen a 2-pound difference before and after taking it.

Nope, by prescription, so you know it’s the good stuff. Hopefully I’ll be able to come off of it at my next appointment in February, because, honestly, I’ve been forgetful with taking it, and my blood pressure was fine at my last check up.

My GF dumped me last week and the weight is now falling off because I don't eat when stressed or sad.

157.4 - lowest since June.
