I'm hoping they offer the "video" version as the extra content on LB if you ordered through 10C.

I was still in puke mode for the first 8 or 9 listens. I didn't have any change of opinion until I could isolate myself and concentrate on listening to this with lyrics in front of me through headphones.gardenparty wrote:wish i could share the excitement with you folks but i'm still trying to clean all of the cheese out of my ears. Hopefully i do a 180 but i'm in no hurry to have my third listen

This one takes some commitment and focus to enjoy. And I'm sure that means it will only be a song for a certain kind of moment. You can't play this while doing other things and expect to like it.
I wish I could download it but I'm not in the 10C...dadanotprada wrote:Studio version is way better than the leak version... Jeff's bass changes everything in terms of cheesiness abaout the song...
then i hope someone gets a rip of the video in the gmail eventually so i can download that for laterhlniv wrote:The sirius version sounded the same to me as the leaked version from yesterday. I downloaded the official audio from the PJ site that is available if you pre-ordered LB. Track length is 5:39. Same.
The audio from the video is very clearly different, and sounds like a live recording. At it absolutely kills. I have now gone from officially 100% hating this to officially 100% loving this tune. The live version pushed me over the edge. I've never had that kind of turnaround on a pearl jam song. ever.
I think there's two versions now. And only two

just like the 'live' amongst the waves track used for the video kicked the shit out of the studio cutMcParadigm wrote:I cannot fathom how a "let's make a video" live soundstage mix can sound so much better than the carefully crafted album mix.
I don't mean I'm surprised, I just mean....why would you do that?
Rubbish.hlniv wrote:This one takes some commitment and focus to enjoy. And I'm sure that means it will only be a song for a certain kind of moment. You can't play this while doing other things and expect to like it.
yeah, its still in train wreck territory for me right now. Reminds me of Richard MarxStrat wrote:hlniv wrote:I was still in puke mode for the first 8 or 9 listens. It was like a fucking train wreck i kept revisiting. Trying to wrap my head around it...
I finally was able to. Glad i put in the effort
If you're predisposed to like the live version, it's likely you'll like this version. But it's a good song, right?Lounge Lizard wrote:just like the 'live' amongst the waves track used for the video kicked the shit out of the studio cutMcParadigm wrote:I cannot fathom how a "let's make a video" live soundstage mix can sound so much better than the carefully crafted album mix.
