Work is forcing masks on people again. Narrative has gone from “wear a mask to save lives” to “wear a mask so we don’t have too many employees out with a cold at the same time.”

I picked up some beer at a liquor store I’d never been to yesterday. The young lady at the counter was masked, gloved, and behind a hanging plastic divider. Felt super safe! Can we all agree that anyone still trying to protect themselves in public with gloves is a total moron?

seems to me constantly posting in a thread about something you claim is over and poses no threat on a daily basis is more the mental illness on display than wearing a mask and some gloves

But gloves don’t work, or at least there’s no practical reason for people to wear them around in public outside of a medical or food service setting. Hasn’t that been settled since about month two of the ‘demic?

And yeah, it’s been over for me and most other reality dwellers for quite some time, but when I see someone still living in terror, I muse about it here. Sorry to have bothered you on your vacation.

Because I asked and she said, “Yeah, no, I’m just a total doomer and having trouble readjusting to normal life.”

And even if she did, the gloves wouldn’t do anything to protect her. I’m specifically focusing on the gloves because you just don’t see it anymore, even among the quad-mask crowd.
