I hope so. Who wouldn't throw second round picks or the possible unhappy camper who wants a change in scenery at Detroit for a cheap vet who has shown he can play a very effective 20 mins off your bench? The only thing he doesn't give you in a backup PG is defense and 3 point shooting. The rest of his game is crazy efficient. They are showcasing him a bit now by starting him and upping his minutes, but I can't think of very many contenders who wouldn't improve with 20 mins of Rose playing this way off their bench.

And I apologize for being a bit crass in the thread and specifically to verb.

The fact is, most of this board is not effusive in their support for "cancel culture" like so much of the internet is. And the people in this thread are legitimate basketball fans that really were likely really affected emotionally by the death of Kobe Bryant.

My point was more directed toward the rest of the internet at large. Most of what I saw regarding Kobe before coming and posting here were, as LV says was a tone of hero worship. Not the standard "Oh man that sucks, Kobe was a great player and I remember him in the 04 finals!" kinda thing. Many of the things I saw were over the top praise of him as a man and his impact on peoples lives.... people who never met him, and at most casually followed the NBA.

And I was especially annoyed to see people effusively praising Kobe that normally, in effect, cancel any athlete or musician or actor or otherwise that have even had a hint of allegations of sexual or domestic misconduct levied against them. And in Kobe's case, he went as far to acknowledge that his partner "may have not felt as though she consented" which is pretty bad.

Either way, Sorry Verb and anyone else that may have been bothered by it. Sincerely.

I've never been a Kobe fan. In fact I've probably spent more time arguing against Kobe fans than fans of any other player in my life. But man this is gut wrenching. I'm surprised how sad I've felt since the news broke.

Verb had a good post earlier about this being a person you've invited into your house for 82+ games a season for years. I think another thing that makes it so emotional is seeing so many guys you like and still see on a daily basis being just absolutely gutted about this. Like the grieving process is so public for current NBA players. It's really brutal to watch.

Never was really a Kobe fan but gotta respect his game.

Highest rated game in years I'm thinking. It feels so voyeuristic and disgusting on one hand, but also a necessary part of the grieving process on the other. But yeah it's going to be really hard to watch.

Still really hurting from the Kobe thing. I have 3 daughters so i just can't stop thinking about him holding his daughter on that chopper, probably telling her its going to be okay, when he knew it wouldn't be. His wife, and his other daughters now. This is really rough.

Not to mention the other parents and children killed... It's just horrible.

that's a lot of game tape to go through to cut that together.

Clippers/Lakers game is postponed. Probably a good call.
