It appears that Eddie - still - refuses to face the reality of what his voice is these days. There is zero chance that he could sing this without studio tricks. Same as much of the last 2-3 albums. Dude.. you’re in your 50’s.

I will say that I’ve only listened twice tonight under the influence of alcohol. We'll see how I feel tomorrow. But, Olé > this, as far as one-off singles go.

I disagree. This sounds a lot like Soundgarden to me.

There are a few chord changes there that are vaguely Soundgarden-y (I'm thinking of how the riff kind of slides into the low end in the chorus with what sounds to be an open E string, that "rumbly" sound) and the background percussion sounds a bit like the percussion from "Been Away Too Long". Neither of these things is exclusive to Soundgarden, and Soundgarden isn't the first band that came to mind when I heard this bad bad song, but I understand where people are getting it from

I liked it after the first listen. The lyrics aren't great, but lyrics are usually the least of my worries. Not what I expected, which is cool. At times I actually got a NIN vibe.

Listened again, still like it.

Listening live: Starts out exactly like Chris Cornell would. Has a nice rythm. This is a lot better than several of the 21st century fast songs from Pearl Jam.

Listening on headphones now. Ed sounds really good on this.

This gets two thumbs up. Best Pearl Jam song since Lightning Bolt came out.

I gave in and got the dropbox app on my iPad to give this a listen. Honestly, it wasn’t as god awful as I expected. On first listen I actually dig a few things that are happening in the song. I absolutely hear the CC comparison in the opening lines, which is also probably my favorite part of the song at first blush. Too bad the lyrics are poop. I’ll have to give it a few more listens.

Middle of the road but feels and sounds more inspired than anything on LB the last three albums.

I don't have any tattoos but the colour of my hair happens to match my favourite song title. I often rock out to songs I can't make out the lyrics to so yeah, delivery is what is important or otherwise I might actually like Binaural or Riot Act a lot. You can't deny me.
