Adam Driver says he was developing a new Star Wars movie with Steven Soderbergh called The Hunt for Ben Solo that would have taken place after The Rise of Skywalker.

"We presented the script to Lucasfilm. They loved the idea. They totally understood our angle and why we were doing it," Driver told The Associated Press. "We took it to [Disney] and they said no. They didn't see how Ben Solo was alive. And that was that."

I would love a Kylo/Ben movie with Adam Driver.

Seriously disney you dont want a Kylo movie or any Boba Fett /Obi Wan/Mace Windu projects when amazing actors are happy to step up in the roles.

oh yeah. How many SW shows did they produced? and we cant have a Soderbergh movie with Driver?

I'm obviously not in any of these rooms but outside looking in, to me, it looks like Disney is too reactionary. The see whatever the most vocal Internet posters say and they react to that rather than to creativity or artists or what have you.

So Disney makes movies that run as far from those as possible, that reference them as little as possible.

I agree but i also think most of those were choices they made mainly thinking about money, parks, toys, etc without really having good material prepared for it.

Now, to be totally fair to Disney... There's a non-zero chance that had this been greenlighted a could years ago, fans would have rolled their eyes and accused Disney of living in the past and being unable to take a risk on any NEW stories/characters.

Fans don't have a great track record when it comes to dead characters returning.
