Superblood pretty much works the whole way through for me - just the 'I'm a stunner part'. But I think that's a very valid point here. This one doesn't need to be 5 minutes.

I agree but the good parts are really good...and too much editing would have placed this squarely in the spritzy PJ rocker category...SBWM could easily trim some fat and be better though

oddly enough, this is where ol' Brendan may have been good.
he would have cut all the good parts though

I am so damn used to this band being edited and copy-and-pasted to shit at this point that I love everything about this "throw everything in and hammer on the best bit for ages" approach

From the starting fake out, to Ed muttering something before it kicks in, and the ending jam, this feels like a band playing loose and having a good time. I like how it worked out

Yes. Agreed with Harmless.

Funny, I expected to love this one the most and loved the clip, but I was underwhelmed on the first listen. Now it's growing on me in a big way.

This is the classic grower of the album, odd choice as an opener for that reason.

Definitely.

I still can't wrap my head around the part where it kind of peters out and then comes back. It feels almost indecisive and I'm not sure I love that. They kind of already did that heading into the bridge, which is great.

Anyone hearing a little STP in here? At least at the beginning? Love the weird little counter melody before the Mike fills, that’s totally Stone’s doing.

I hear a full band work up of a Into The Wild track. Like if Ed came in with something like Far Behind and the band put a bit of fixing on it and it worked.

Far Behind is the exact riff i thought of too as the launch platform for this song

I thought this would be one of the better tracks, both from the reviews and everything else. Not sure about that now. Still early days. I do love the way Ed sings it. It's better than SBWM. Hopefully the music will come out more powerful with a cd/lp or even through Apple Music.

i think where Im struggling with this song is the chorus - a little too pop for the rest of the song, maybe? its catchy but a little incongruous for the song

I love love love the delivery of "who ever said it's all been said..." but not so much "gave up on satisfaction"

I almost feel like the chorus could have been "who ever said it's all been said?" repeated 2 / 4 times, with a space left where the latter part is now

The last two minutes of this song just slaps. Ed is so on point with this section.
