And those are some of my favourite PJ songs. No wonder I like it :D

While I disagree with your placing (this could be my favourite), it's great having an album with no crap songs on it, isn't it? :)
this song made me cry on first listen

I'm not sure that's *ever* happened before

Low Light is the first song to make me cry.

And I'm pretty sure it was the song and not the 2 hour download time on 1998 dial up internet.
"Release" has also made me bawl but not until... 2019 I think?

The run of DOTC>QE>Alright>7oC is just fantastic. This is what I want from PJ.

Wish this one hung around just a bit longer. Wanted to get lost in its vibe, and it was over

I straight up cringe at the acid trip line.

Me too, buddy. Also, "If you tire of the game/Hit the road toward the clouds/Find the groove in the sound."

This song is to the PJ "spiritual escape" theme what "Gone" was to their "car escape" theme -- the moment at which a subject overspends its conceptual potential and can only be expressed through uncreative cliches.

It's a nice sounding song though, and the lyrics kind of fade into the soundscape if you don't listen to them too closely.

I'm fine with the lyrics being fluffy, spacey Ament-isms.

If Ed had written the lyrics, I think they'd probably be more heavy-handed and drag the song down for me (see: Pendulum).

Ignore the lyrics and enjoy the tune.

i just think the vocal melody (+ lyrics) isn't as interesting as what's going underneath, might like it more as an instrumental maybe, but it's still a nice song, i appreciate it

I do enjoy the tune, I haven't been skipping it, but the lyrics are a stumbling block.

Lyrics are a major foreground element of most popular music. If you can tune them out and enjoy more music as a result, great, but the prevalent tone on RM that that should be every listener's default mode when listening to music is not something I identify with.

That said, I did say It's a nice sounding song though, and the lyrics kind of fade into the soundscape if you don't listen to them too closely.

I do think these lyrics are pretty weak, and this is one of those rare times I seem to be able to ignore it (as opposed to quite a few other songs where I like the music and the lyrics end up hurting the song - thin air, no way, lowlight come to mind)

These are not "Inside Job" level bad. A couple of groaners here and there sure

I think the lyrics are being unfairly maligned here, maybe because some of us have no need for the message
