Life/time. The queen of collections is death. Assuming this is about CC, the it is the part of his life that touched and defined Ed. The part of ourselves that lives in other people, that causes the hollow that's left when they die.

yeah these lines are really good; I really like how "queen of collections" feminizes the grim reaper / death character; it's very Tarot, which totally works as a reference / nod to Soundgarden's aesthetic

you could say it two ways:
1. death took away any remaining time with CC.
2. the death of CC caused such trauma/anxiety it took time off EV's life.

I was so confused with "took your time" because I was thinking "took bloody ages to arrive... ugh you took your time didn't ya!"

I was not thinking "stole your time away from this mortal coil"

"stole" may have been stronger than "took"

it’s clearer, but i like the subtlety


I spend a lot of time thinking about PJ lyrics so who knows what I add that isnt there, but Eddie can be a much more subtle lyricist than people often credit him for. There are nuances that are lost in a superficial and surface read.

It’s been said by more than a few here, but the mic-ing of the guitar on this one is superb.

Cannot wait to hear a cleaner version of this whole album.

Guys this song is so good. This good be 1993 Ed singing. It’s un-believeable. Is there a 1993/Eddie Vedder ProTools filter? And yes the guitar sounds so full and beautiful. I’m glad they just left it pretty much at that.

I just reading them....seems to hint about a possible fight between them? im not sure if he talks about vicki or its all about death taking him.

oh shit yeah... if the Queen of Collections is the feminine Death / Grim Reaper (who is normally portrayed as masculine), "she" might not be Vicki

At the same time that line of she bleeding him...sounds like someone would say about her.

Well The End used to be my favorite Eddie acoustic but this song trumps it.
